Today's Severe Threat

The SPC issued a moderate risk area for parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas for the possibility of storms this afternoon and evening. There could be even more tornadoes around the OKC area today, which is the last thing anyone cleaning up in Moore need. Around that, there is a very large slight risk extending almost border to border from Texas to the Dakotas.

Tornado:

Straight Line Wind:

Hail:

This needs to be taken deadly serious today. The SPC hasn't used the 15% tornado probability this year as far as I can remember, which is what the SPC defines as warranting a moderate risk. We'll see if they bump it up to a high risk later today, but it's probably not going to happen.

From Monday: Sean Casey (of IMAX and "Storm Chasers" fame) drove into another tornado in Kansas.
