TODAY'S SEVERE: For the first time since Friday, the severe weather risk has moved out of the Central Plains, and there isn't a moderate risk in place. The greatest threat for severe weather will be from the Tennessee Valley up to the Great Lakes, with the greatest tornado potential being over Ohio.
REMEMBERING JOPLIN: On this day two years ago, a large violent tornado ripped across Joplin, Missouri. The tornado touched down on the western side of the city, and destroyed much of the southern side of Joplin, killing 158, the 7th deadliest all time.
This article from Reuters sheds a little more light on the fear Joplin residents had Monday when the sirens went off shortly after the Moore tornado.
