Moderate Risk Today

The ongoing severe weather event will move east today, and in advance of today's storms, the SPC has posted a moderate risk area over central Oklahoma and far north Texas.

The possibility for very large hail, destructive straight line winds, and isolated tornadoes is very significant today. Here's a look at the tornado, wind, and hail probabilities for today, in that order.

If you fall under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning or Tornado Warning today, you'll definitely want to take cover as massive hail that could be the size of baseballs or bigger could be falling, along with destructive straight line winds, even if you aren't impacted by a tornado.

Everyone should have ways to get warnings should they be issued. (NOAA Weather Radio, smartphone apps, and then further statements through TV, radio, or internet. DON'T COUNT ON SIRENS UNLESS YOU ARE OUTSIDE!)
