Multiple tornadoes have been reported around Akron, Colorado tonight. Bryce Kintigh reported on Twitter that there was a "snownado" reported near Akron. It's 35 degrees and snowing in Akron, and there has been reports of tornadoes causing damage. Bryce says that there is a mobile home destroyed south of Akron and that half of the town is without power. No one has been injured.
You can see that around the circled area there is what appears to be a hook echo southwest of Akron, and the velocity has certainly been suggesting that there have been tornadoes with the storms around Akron. Certainly interesting.
There are other storms in progress in warmer air in Kansas and Nebraska, and the watch was set to expire at 9:00MDT/10:00CDT this evening, but is still in effect in parts of SW Nebraska.
And in sports related notes, the Louisville Cardinals won the NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship, which makes my otherwise horrific bracket look kind of convincing.
