The purple areas scattered across the country are Winter Weather Advisories. Blizzard Warnings remain in effect in central Minnesota from the light snow and strong wind event that occurred today. The dark blue shows where Winter Storm Watches are in effect for the next snowstorm on Thursday (which the Weather Channel, in a stroke of pure genius, has named "Winter Storm Q". Seriously. They're calling it "Q".) and the other colors on the map show various fire, wind, and flood warnings.
